Columbus, Ohio, March 30.-Preaident 30.-Preaident 30.-Preaident John Rolsen, of the Board of .Elections or Cincinnati, to-day to-day to-day appeared before the special special Hamilton County Contest Committee on behalf of himself and his colleague, Wil liam J. McDevitt, who' accompanied him here, to controvert the criticisms contained ln the majority report of the committee. He denied specifically that the board was responsible for the conditions denounced ln the report and endeavored to make It plain to the committee lust what the customs were in that city, many of the matters com plained of having existed -for -for many years without protest or thought of wrong doing. lie was subjected to an examination by members of the committee concerning - a number of matters, among them the reason for refusing to move a voting place out ot a saloon and place it ln a barber shop just across the street. Because of the adjournment adjournment of the House, the committee took no action upon the report and will not until next Tuesday at the earliest. It is definite ly settled that the Republicans will have a minority report modifying some of the find inra of the maioritv. but in a mnmn .m ictsifig the laxity of the enforcement of the election -laws. -laws.
