The change will be made between now and April" 1st. All locomotives belonging to controlled roads, such as the Atlantic City division, Reading & Columbia. Gettysburg & Har - risburg, and Catasauqua & Fogelsville Railway, will be numbered from Xo. 1 to 100. The observation engine. No. 1, the Ariel, Witch and Transit, will be numbered from 101 up. The numbers of all eight - wheeled American passenger engines will begin at 110, and the fast passenger engines will begin at Xo. 301. The ten - wheeled freight engines will begin with 401, and the consolidation freight engines with 701. The four - wheeled shifters will begin with Xo. 1201, and the six - wheeled shift ers with Xo. 1231. The eight - wheeled and ten - wheeled con nected and Mogul engine will begin with 1401 and upwards. The first of this class to receive its new number has just been turned out of the shop. Her number is 1447.
