In the FALL of 1957 Ron was hired by the St. Paul School District. By the Spring of 1958 the enrollment of Tex-Mex (called Mexicans by the locals) students created large classes. Ron was not familiar with this mix of students. It was this experience that Ron remembers well! Ron approached the student mix with creativity and sensitivity. Not only did he create programs at St. Paul, but by 1959 he was helping the state address an increasing annual student mix -MIGRANT STUDENTS K-12.
