—A party of Bessemer officials, consisting of Assistant Superintendent C. L. Pasho, Chief Dispatcher F. W. Smith, Train Supervisor W. M. Johnson, Assistant Principal Engineer F. J. Randall and Engineer of Bridges and Buildings F. R. Layng, left on Bessemer train 12, Friday morning, for an extensive trip through the west. The party will go over the Lake Shore to Chicago. They will be met at Ashtabula by General Superintendent D. C. Moon of the Lake Shore whi will take the party west on the new Lake Shore inspection engine. From Chicago they will go to St. Louis over the C. & A., thence to Council Bluffs over the Burlington, returning to Chicago and back home over a route to be selected later. They expect to investigate the various systems of handling trains on single and double track.with and without train orders, and all other matters of interest they may observe. The party expects to be gone about a week or ten days.' Mrs. Pasho accompanied the party as far as Rock Island where she will visit relatives.
