News From the Railroads General Superintendent Marshall and Mr. Moon, a division superinten dent of the New York Central, passed through Waterloo last Thursday aft ernoon on the Lake Shore Just ahead of No. 10. in a coach attached to a New York Central inspection engine 'Ontario," No. 2. The engine is a peculiar looking af fair, being of an old and obsolete tyje with a single pair of drivers, and baring baring been equipped with a cab that covers the full length of the boiler to afford . protection for ofliclals on Inspection Inspection trips. The cab is fitted with a speed register and - other Indicators necessary for a complete inspection. and Is connected with the coach by telephone, while both coach and en gine are lighted with electricity. Messrs. - Marshall and Moon bad teen over the Lake KrlcV Western system. striking the Lake Shore at LaPorte. Two inspection engines will soon be built at the Lake Shore shops at Elkhart. Elkhart. 1
