. Selling Be.r at Clermont. The old settlers had a picnic at Clermont yesterday, and early on the scene was Ben Whitaitt aud a man named Schaler, from this city, with a wagon load of beer, which they proceeded to retail. This led to an arrest and a trial before a 'squire at Clermont, Whitsitt appearing as the other man's counsel and representing that be was an attorney and he was successful in securing an acquittal. To avoid additioual arrest the wagon was moved farther away, but it is the understanding that the illegal sale was continued until the supply was exhausted. Th
