mi S. Two Are Held in Death of Infant Buried at Allen (From Tuesday's Daily) T. J. Bassinger and his daughter, Ethel Bassinger, both of Allen, were being held in the county jail today while Assistant County Attorney Hugh F. Mathis was making final inquiries before the filing* or criminal criminal action, probably murder, against both. Sheriff Bob Duncan and the county county prosecutor were called Monday to Allen to hold a court of inquiry into the case. W'hile the father and girl were being examined and two younger children, Lula Bassinger, 15, and Hobson Bassinger, 13, were being questioned, officers searched the home and outbuildings. In the bar, near the house, it is said, they found the Body of an infant buried. It was believed to have been dead a'bout two weeks but was well preserved in the cold earth. A post-mortem examination made here late yesterday is said to have revealed the fact that a rag had been s t u f f e d into the child's stopping respiration. Doctors also reported that the lungs indicated that the child had breathed and that circulation had started. Bassinger is about 45 years old. Ethel Basinger is 22. Filing of charges was expected this afternoon or tomorrow.
