is Currins Mrs. Irene Currins, 2835 Viewland Ave., widow of Charles (Cassey) Currins, died at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday in Alton Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health seven years and a patient in the hospital one month. Mrs. Currins, a former em- ploye at Alton Memorial Hospital, began working there during World War II. She had been retired since 1947. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Stanley, she was born in Alton, Oct. 17, 1895. She attended the Alton schools and was married here June 24, 1916, to Charles Currins., Her husband died last February. A son, Charles, Alton, and four grandchildren, survive her. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Harold, and a sister, Mrs. Hattie Golf. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Staten Chapel, followed by burial in Upper Alton Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 7 p.m. today.
