The boiler exploded with awfal force J carrying away a large portion ct tbe deck, besides shattering the ball from stem to stern. At the time John Ward, first engineer, cf Detroit; Wm. Miller, second engineer, of I'ort Huron; James Wylie, home unknown, and Waller Fisher, of Port Duron, firemen, were at tbeir posts, and all were killed. The caotain, Thomas Currey, bad a leg broken, aud was otherwise bruised. Frank Furtab, wheelman, was badly scalded. and Andrew Keid, a deck baud, was also badly scalded. Maud Bennett, the -cook. -cook. wbo was in tbe after-cabin after-cabin after-cabin at the time of tba explosion, was blown into tba river. from which the was rescued uninjured. Robert Goodwin, the mate, wbo was ashore handling tbe line, was blown over a wood pile and had his side in jured. . . The bodies sank in the river and have not been recovered. The scalded men are at Sonibra uuuer the care of a physician front Fort Duron. The tug Frank Moffatt was built at Port Uuron ia 18C9, and was valued at 17.COO. witb S5.0O0 insurance.
