Eldred ELDRED.—A dinner was given Sunday at the home of Mr. anc Mrs. Louis Langer honoring the birthday of Mr. Langer. Guests were their son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Dean Langer of White Hall. Dr. A. J. Bendrick of Dubois was an afternoon caller. The American Legion Auxiliary met in regular session at the hall Friday evening. Mrs. Ray Bennett presided during the business session. The organization voted to donate $100 toward the purchase ot 100 new chairs which the Legion has ordered. The five hostesses of the evening provided games as entertainment and served refreshments. Next meeting is scheduled for March 13. Dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holford were Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Wilson of East SI. Louis; Miss Janie Holford of Jacksonville, and Glen' Jones. Women of the Baptist Church who served lunch at the Darr sale report a net profit of $106.40. Mrs. Charles King will be hostess to a meeting of the local Household Science Club at her home Thursday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Coonrod. and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Yelliot and children of Piilsfield. and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hurt were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Holford.
