Spanish Influenza .. And now Elyria is to have her turn. There are dozens--in hundreds--of cases in -this city already and its only been with few minutes, so to speak. The epidemic of Spanish influenza does not warrant any That only makes it worse. It increases the extreme difficulties bringing it under control. It tends to make thousands of people, suffering from diseases which have not even remote relationship influenza, take to their beds and send in-haste for the dectors. Even that of course is better than being careless about and exposing others after one really has it. ,The epidemic itself appears to be virulent in only a few communities in this country. In many sections, it is exceedingly being marked only by a slight cold and unpainful intestinal Means have been taken to prevent the spread of the virulent beyond the-districts it now is in. We have every reason to those measures. And we have no reason to fear greatly if the disease does develop in our own community with all its force. For there have been far worse epidemics. We are every day contact with diseases more distressing and deadly. The influenza naturally makes its swiftest inroads in the camps. It is not to be helped where great numbers of men closely quartered. But the army is better equipped to deal contagion than most cities. It will conquer the influenza while yet flourishes among civilians. Adopt the preventive measures advised by local health Keep your head and don't be influenced by alarmists. This is which any one can follow, and it will do more than anything write the epidemic down as history.
