Detmar marries Shroyeron isle GALVESTON — Lisa Ann Detmar Detmar and Paul Nelson Shroyer were joined in marriage Dec. 20, 1987, at the Top Gallant Room of the Wentletrap in Galveston. Rabbi Michael Leburkien performed performed the ceremony. Pianist Marjorie Rasche and violinist Sylvia Beerman provided nuptial music. The bride was given in marriage marriage by her grandfather, Sam Bazaman. She chose a formal designer designer gown by Galina. The white, silk satin gown featured reem- broidered Alencon lace. The sculptured basque bodice was styled with a sweetheart neckline accented by scallops of lace extending extending toa "V" in back. The large, pouf sleeves were worn off-the-shoulder and were fashioned with a crushed satin ruffle at the shoulder. The bodice and sleeves were adorned with Alencon lace motifs, strands of bridal pearls and large dropped pearls. From the fitted waistline, the full skirt fell to slipper-length in front and swept to a train of court length. The front of the skirt was designed designed with a center panel of reembroidered Alencon lace that was embellished with pearls and iridescent sequins. The hemline was bordered in jeweled scallops of Alencon lace and extended around the border of the train. She wore a single strand of pearls and a pair of pearl and diamond earrings. For her headpiece, headpiece, she chose a single band of Alencon lace motifs with a tier of silk illusion falling to fingertip length. The bride carried a bouquet of stephanotis. lily of the valley, wnite bridal roses. English ivy and greenery. Maid of honor was Ruth Golden of of of New York, N.Y. Bridesmaids were Julie Stine of Houston, Cheri McCormack of Dallas, Julie Baker of Houston, Linda Di Bartolo of Nacogdoches and Kathy Hartung of Dallas. Flower girl was Meryl Bazaman of Galveston, cousin of the bride. Best man was Guy Shroyer of Pittsburg, Pa., brother of the groorn. Groomsmen were Phil Applegate of Piano, Greg Richards of Houston, Jeff Fannin of Humble, Tim Niermeyer of Amarillo and John Duffy Houston. Ushers were Jim Shortell Houston; Mike Eldridge of Nacogdoches; Harvey Bazaman and Brian Bazaman of Galveston, both uncles of the bride. A reception was held at the Wentletrap Restaurant. Serving in the houseparty were Soula Sideris of Galveston. Debbie Norris of College Station and Rhonda Black of Alexandria, Va. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Maureen Detmar of Galveston. A graduate of O'Connell O'Connell High School, she received a bachelor of science degree in education from Stephen F. Austin State University. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. sorority. She is an elementary school teacher in Cypress Fairbanks Independent Independent School District. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G.F. Shroyer Jr. of Houston. A graduate of Cypress Creek High School, he received a bachelor of science degree in agriculture from Stephen F. Austin State University where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He is sales representative representative for Chem Lawn Services. Following a cruise to the Bahamas, they are residing in Houston.
