Mrs. Ora Vickers BLOSSOM — Funeral services were to be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Blossom Church of God for Mrs. Ora M. Vickers. The pastor, the Rev. Earl Akin will officiate and Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home will make burial in Knights of Honor Cemetery. The body will lie at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour. Mrs. Vickers died at8 a.m. Saturday in McCuistion Medical Center. She was born Aug. 31, 1893 in Pike County, Ark., a daughter of Joseph and Martha (Herron) Shepherd. She moved to Texas in 1907 and married J. L. Vickers in 1911 at East Post Oak. After their marriage they returned to Arkansas where they lived until 1919 when they returned to Blossom to make their home. Mr. Vickers died Sept. 16.1955. She was a member of the Blossom Church of God. Survivors include two daughters, Miss Lossie Vickers of Blossom and Mrs. Bobby Parriott of Irving; three sons. O. L. Vickers of Powderly, Autis Vickers of Blossom and Donald R. Vickers of Copperas Cove; one sister, Mrs. Nora Huggs of Odessa; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will be at the home of a niece, Mrs. Hubert Johnston in Blossom.
