J., and Edward Casterline of Budd Lake, Tf. J, will be arraigned today on charges of grand larceny, assault and battery, and attempted robbery before* Magistrate John C. Losey. They were arrested yesterday after a man hunt by municipal and State Police which followed their alleged attempt to rob Martin Spoolstra, sixty-year-old Sparta farmer. Spoolstra drove to Newton yesterday morning and was on bis way home, he reported, when he picked up Boardman and Casterline about a mile from the center of the vil- age. After they had driven about four miles,, according to Spoolstra, Casterline -who was sitting In the front insisted'that they turn into a side road.; When Spoolstra refused, Boardman allegedly leaned forward from the badt-seat, seised -the eWeriy man.under the chin and pulled his head backwards. Meanwhile, Spoolstra reported, Casterline had placed a gun against his side, and stopped the car. ^ · The driver refused to surrender to fight.
