Name Mickey Ion N.H.L Referee Seoul 5 O'Clock Edition Service. TORONTO. 'Sept. 12. (CP) President Calder announced today that the National , Hockey League on the recommendation of its - management committee had appointed Mickey Ion as referee-scout for the coming season and 10 - men to act as referees or linesmen. Ion will travel through Canada and the United States in search rf men who he thinks will make the grade of N.HX. officials. Ion has been senior referee in the league for several years. Five men were named to the - refereeing staff, one of whom will altercate as a linesman. They are: Frank (King) Clancy, of Ottawa; Norman Lamport, 1 of Toronto: William Chadwick, of New York, Eddie Burke, of Toronto, former - NJU star, and charles (Rabbit) McVeigh, of Detroit, who also will art as linesman. The linesmen appointed are: A. G Smith, of Boston; F. J. Stevenson, of New York; A Wilcox, of - Montreal; Bert McCaffrey, of To- ronto: D. A. McFayden, of Chicago and Crossficld, Alta., and McVeigh. ,
