CUMBERLAND VALLEY. The Washington residence of Col. B. F. Winger, of Greencastle,was slightly damaged by fire a few days ago. Julias a. wasmnger, of strasburg, and Bertha E. Miller, of Rocky Spring, were married Thursday. Some person, as yet unknown, burglarized the stores of Wm. A. Shannon and M. L. McCune, of Mercersburg, Thursday. John N. Stephey died in ltouzerville, Sunday last, aged 65 years. Howard Windowmaker and Miss An - netta Diller, of Mt. Holly Springs, were married yesterday. George F. Grove, of Greencastle, lost a $240 horse by death the other day. vviiuam K. Hull and Miss uiara u. Lebo, of Lebo, Perry county, were wedded in Carlisle Thursday, as was also Wm. K. Walters, of North Middleton township, and Laura M. Lynch, of Philadelphia. W. R. Keefer, Esq., has withdrawn from the contest for the Republican nomination for district attorney of Franklin county. The candidates now remaining are the incumbent, Horace Bender; Wm. S. Hoerner and J. A. Strite, of Chambers - burg; Charles Walter, of Waynesboro, and J. II. Lijht, of Greencastle.
