IN CAPTAIN REEVE'S MEMORY. Handsome Fountain Dedicated at Green- port aa Memorial of Deceased Official. Greenport, I I., September 6 The Isaac Reeve memorial fountain was unveiled with appropriate ceremony yesterday afternoon. The monument is a massive structure six feet wide and sixteen feet high, erected on Main Btreet, opposite the Clark House, and In the most public portion of the business section of the village. Surmounting the or nate shun is a cluster of electric lights. At the base are six fountain arrangements to provide a constant flow of fresh water for man and buast. The memorial fountain was erected by popular subscription and cost, erected, about $1,100. All thia was subscribed by people, residents and non-residents, who wished to honor the name of Isaac Reeve for the great service he had done the village which was his birthplace and residence, and of which he was president when he died. Yesterday afternoon was given over to the ceremonies at the memorial. At 2 o'clock there was a parade of the fire department. the school children and village officials and business men. The line of march was through the principal streets, ending at the fountain. The Greenport Cornet Band head ed the line and furnished music for the exercises. The address of the day was delivered by Lawyer Herbert L. Fordham. In the evening there was a baud concert and a display of fireworks, which were presented by a public-spirited citizen.
