His new job will be as business manager of an association of doctors similar to the Beaver clinic which is known as the Desert Medical Group. A graduate of Redlands High school in 1942, Air. Boring later attended the University of Redlands where he was awarded his BA in business administration jn 1950. He has lived in the Redlands- Yucaipa area for most of his life. He has been especially active in Community Chest work for the past several years, heading up the downtown division two years ago and the medical section of the professional division in the 195758 campaign. He has served on the.C h e s t board for two years and only yesterday resigned from his post as chairman of the budget committee. He is a .member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Lions club, serving a term as Lion Tamer as well as two years on the board of directors of which he Shannon Accused By Marine Corps A former Redlands marine corps sergeant: at San Diego is! among six drill instructors. who today face general courts-martiall on charges of soliciting "graduation presents" from marine recruits after 11 weeks of basic training. The- six, all sergeants, were accused of accepting a total of 5709.60 from platoons of recruits which finished training last October. A seventh sergeant was charged with borrowing $332 from trainees over a three-month period. A marine corps spokesman said it is not customary to give "graduation presents" to DIs when a platoon was graduated and that in fact such gifts or borrowings were prohibited by regulations. Sgt. James L. Shannon, 22, of Redlands, now living in Santa Ana, is among three charged with collecting a total of $489.60 in one platoon. .
