o ""KILLED BY SWITCH ENGINE. Body of J. 0. Siddens Arrived nt .Man. hiittan. Manhattan, Oct. 23 Details of the; accident that caused the death of Jesse O. Siddens were learned today, when William Siddens, the boy's father, arrived with the body from Bridge-port, Neb., where the accident occurred. Mr. Siddens said his son, who was assistant foreman on a fence, gang, and three other men, one of them the foreman, were returning on a hand'ar from Bridgeport. A switch engine; was approaching from the rear and the fact tint the engine carried only a small coal oil lamp made it impossible for the men to see It. until it whs within 20 feet of the handcar. Two of the men saw the approaching engine and jumped in time to save themselves. Tlv foreman and Jesse Siddens were killed instantly. The accident, occurred at 7:10 Friday, October 17. The men wore ramping a little way out. of Bridgeport, and had gone to the town in the evening for provisions. Mr. Siddens said th accident occurred on the Burlington railroad.
