will in- Maan un- VFW in at E. A. Holmquist, 68, Dies Today Erick A. Holmquist. 68, of Ironwood Township, died at 12:50 today at Grand View Hospital. He was born Feb. 7, 1888 in Jeppo, Vasalen, Finland of Swedish descent. He was married June 23, 1910 in Finland to M. Heikfolk. Mr. Holmquist came to the United States in August and settled in Montreal, where wife joined him later. In 1911 moved to Ironwocd and in 1919 Ironwood Township, where they resided since. He worked for the Oliver Mining Company until after which he went to Butte, Mont.. and_ worked in the mines. In 1940 he worked in the shipyards at Superior, and in 1941 the shipyards at Tacoma, Wash. From 1942 until 1944 he worked lumber camps, and retired in 1944 because of ill health. He attended Grace Lutheran Church. Surviving besides his wife, are one son, Gunnard W. Holmquist, at home; two daughters, M William F. King. Ironwood, Mrs. Wilbert Liimakka, Wakefield: two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Grace Church with the Rev. John S Kendall officiating. Friends may call at the Nyberg-Miller Mortuary beginning 6 p.m. Monday.
