GIRLS STATE DELEGATE, ALTERNATE SELECTED Marcia Campbell Miss Denise Derr, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. M. C. Derr, Maitland, has been named delegate to attend Girls State June 14-20 at Stephens College, Columbia, by the Maitland- Auxiliary. Miss Marcia Campbell, Campbell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Sherrow. Graham, was selected as alternate. Girls State is a function sponsored annually by the Ajnerican Legion Auxiliary. The program provides citizenship citizenship training for a selected group of high school juniors and gives them a working knowledge of the structure of the American government. The girls are selected from the upper one-third of the junior junior class. They must posses outstanding qualities of leadership, leadership, good character, honesty, honesty, courage, good health, cooperation, physical fitness and be willing to report Girls State experiences.
