Philip L. Goldman Moses J. Kati Bernard Kauiman Louis Charles Zigman Tells Pharmacists Education Lacks Stress on Morals Too Much Attention Given to Facts, Says President of St. John's University Too much stress in modern education upon factual knowledge, semester hours, credits and high marks and too little stress upon moral training was deplored this morning by the Very Rev. Thomas F. Ryan, C. M., president of St. John's University, at the commencement exercises of St. Johns School of Pharmacy at the Academy of Music. Father Ryan, in the presence of several hundred friends and parents, members of the board of trustees and faculty, presented diplomas to 76 graduates, four of whom were women, including one nun. "We have too many of the quasi-intelligentsia in our country who sharpen their wits and almost make slaves of their fellowmen," Father Ryan said. "If with education we could combine moral training, then many of the difficulties and troubles we have today would soon disappear. Morality is necessary. It must be the foundation of our social life. And no matter how much wealth or social honors we gain, if we have not beneath it social integrity then the whole edifice will crash as it has crashed in recent years." Dr. Albert A. Tausk, principal of Boys' High School, and the Rev. Edward F. Doherty, C. M regent of the School of Pharmacy, also spoke. Those who received diplomas are GRADUATES IN PHARMACY Edward J.
