JAIL READING MAN ON LIQUOR CHARGE PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 11 (JTh - State Motor Policeman William L. Peck's keen sense of smell helped send Guiseppe Baraca, 36, of North Twelfth street, Reading, to jail today today on a liquor violation charge. Peck smelled the odor of alcohol coming from a car owned by Baraca and driven by Nicholas Pergola, of Reading, when Pergola passed the car on the highway at New Philadelphia, Philadelphia, near Tamaqua, last July. The Policeman invesigated and said he found 39 five - gallon cans of al - school secreted in a specially built compartment of the car. A jury Tound Baraca guilty today and Federal Judge George A. Welsh sentenced him to serve four months in Jail and pay a $50 fine. 1
