Sudden Death in Shiloh. Mr. Jas. M. Sumter, the son of Mr. J. Martin Sumter, of Shiloh township, township, died suddenly last Thursday. For some years the deceased had been a sufferer from a spinal disease. He was about 35 3'ears old, a young man of excellent character. The burial was at New Sterling, church Saturday, Rev. J. C. Boyd conducting conducting the funeral services. Death of Mrs. Rebecca Ward. 1 Mrs. Rebecca Ward died at her home in Turnersburg township last Thursday-morning Thursday-morning Thursday-morning aged about 73 years. Mrs. v ard nacl sutiered a stroke of paralysis some time ago, and had never regained her health. She was universally loved by her neighbors. The interment took place at Mt. Bethel church Friday. Nine children, rive sons and four daughters, survive her. Mr. V. . Ward of Statesville, is one of the sons.
