HUGHES CLOTHING STORE, R. Hughes Has Bought Interest of L. Meyerhardt and Will Conduct Conduct Store in Own Name (From Saturday's Daily.) G. R. Hughes today authorized the announcement that he has bought the Interest of his partner, L. Meyerhardt, In the Meyerhardt & Hughes clothing store at 12 South Main, the transfer taking place at once. Mr. Meyerhardt retires from the firm with the most cordial feeling for his successor, their business relations having been both pleasant and profitable. He expects to give his attention to business interests n Kansas City and elsewhere, and will probably leave Fort Scott ultimately and reside in Kansas City. This store was established by Mr. Meyerhardt about thirteen years ago it has prospered and grown to be one of the leading mercantile establishments establishments of the city. The business was substantially benefitted by the en trance or Air. Hughes into partnership with Mr. Meyerhardt a little more than year ago, for there is probably not another man in Bourbon county with as large an acquaintance in this community community as Mr. Hughes. He was born and has lived all his life here. Later he spent ten years In the Fort Scott post office, first as deputy and finally as postmaster under the Taft administration. administration. M, C, A., chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Congregational .church 'and for a number of years served as a director of the Chamber of Commerce.
