John OD on Charles OD
Editor Plain Speakeb: .uear ir: untu Saturday 1 was a faithful supporter of Condy O'Boyle and did my best to insure his election. I am free to admit that we were fairly beaten by an overwhelming majority and for myself am willing to submit to the will of the voters. Anything bnt such a course is baby-like baby-like baby-like and while supporting Condy O'Boyle I thought him made of better stuff the real Democratic elements. I feel like my friend, Charles O'Donnell,- O'Donnell,- we were beaten squarely and have no kick coming. coming. Young Hanlon fought a good, clean Democratic fight, carried off the lairels and is the man who should represent represent the North Side Democracy in the Altoona convention. I hope my friend Condy O'Boyle will play the role of a man and step down aud out, making room for those who had the majority of delegates. JOHN O'DONNELL, Freeland, May 23, 1898.
