Leo Beats EFFINGHAM Leo M. Jack" Beals, 81, of Effingham, Effingham, died at 9:08 a.m. Wednesday (July 28, 2004) at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fourth Street Church of Christ in Effingham. Effingham. He was born Sept. 14, 1922, in Shelby County, son of Preston Preston Macy and Emma Ashen-bremer Ashen-bremer Ashen-bremer Beals. He married Bernice Inez Tarrant in 1942; she died in 1984. He married Pauline Cherry Hudson in 1991; she survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Eloise "Tudi" Beasley of Mt. Sterling, Mo.; stepsons, Gene Hudson of Hindsboro, Bill Hudson of Oakland, David Hudson of Hindsboro; stepdaughters, Ruth Vector of Stewardson, Linda Rowe of Martinsville, Sandra Wright of Mattoon; brothers, Emil "Shorty" Beals of Effingham, Ralph Beals of Effingham; sisters, Mildred Tarrant of Effingham, Frances Kelly of Shumway and Rosalie Waller of Petersburg; Petersburg; two grandchildren; . three great-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; 21 step-great-grandchildren. step-great-grandchildren. step-great-grandchildren. step-great-grandchildren. step-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Edwards , Funeral Home in Areola with Binion the Rev. John Maples officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery. She was born May 26, 1931, in Pierson, a daughter of Elzy and Goldie (Edwards) Snyder.
