Ellen Corcoran - may be Jane Gray's Grandmother
Mrs. Ellen Corcoran. Ellen Corcoran, wife of the late John Corcoran, Corcoran, died at her home, 10 First street, Wednesday, of old age. She was born in Ireland, in 1822, and had lived in the Tenth Ward of Brooklyn for about 52 years. She had been a member of St. Agnes' parish since its foundation and was prominent in the various societies of the church. Her surviving children are Edward and Katie, and she was the grandmother of County Detective Detective George Corcoran and Patrick and James Corcoran, who are well known in the Tenth Ward. She was the great - grandmother of the children of John Morrisey Gray, the Deputy Commissioner of Corrections. The funeral services wore held at St. Agnes' Church this morning.
