Catholic & Mason
The Baltimore San; of the 13th inst., says: "Probably the most radical thing that has transpired throusrh the em Wing ot the hrst Catholic Con--ress is in rctrard to secret societies. The Catholic Church has lonir been regarded as the implacable foe of every society without its own pale, and it now appears that the bane of the Church is to be lifted absolutely from every sort ot secret organization ex cent the Masonic order. That the oh iections to the Masonic order will also be raised is . confidently expected by those in the secret, and it is said to be only a matter of twelve months or so before any man . may openly avow himself a "member of the Ancient Order of Free and Accepted Masons, as well as a faithful member nf tho Catholic Church."
