The steamer Eagle, from New York, arrived at our wharves a few days since, with a large quantity ot paper shavings, rags, etc. consigned to a paper manufacturer of thia city. On opening the sack it wa9 found that four ot thera contained the papers of Aaron Burr, being correspondence on a variety of subjects, legal opinions opinions written out at length, briefs, letters from the most distinguished persons of the age, copies of important wills, &c. In short, the paners comprise comprise almost every subject that would naturally tall in the way of that extraordinary man. Many of our citizens procured from the deck of the vessel, as the papers were strew ed about the deck, original letters from General Washington, gentlemen of distinction in Europe, private correspondence, &.C.; one gentleman told us that he picked up a deed, drawn more than two hundred years ago, which conveyed a large tract of land embracing the spot on which the city of Albany now stands, for the value of about 300; the deed was from the Indian proprietors, and contained the drawing of a large turtle on its face. Curiosity soon became active aoout tne city with regard to these papers, and many persons procured some of them. The Connecticut Connecticut Historical Society, however, we under-siand, under-siand, under-siand, purchased the entire lot after they had been exposed two or three days.
