DEATH TAKES FORMER WEBER SHERIFF AT HOSPITAL Gilbert Rosel .Belnap ;W?is Knpwn Over Entire Western Area WAS CHURCH WORKER Funeral Rites To Be Hel^ In Fourth Ward On : ' ,, Monday Gilbert Rosel Belnap, 82, a former former sheriff of Weber county, died this morning- at 3:30 o'clock In the Dee hospital of pneumonia.' 'Mr. Belnap was born in Winter Quarters, Quarters, Neb., January 8, 1847, a son of Gilbert and Adeline Knight Eel- nap. They arrived in county county September 17, 1850. He was married to Sarah .Jane Cole, November November 30, 1S67. For-14 years he served as sheriff 'for Weber cotfn- ty and was well known over the entire entire west for 'his record while In office. He was a high priest in the Fourth ward of the L.. D. S.' church. Surviving are the following children: children: Addle Ballantyne, Bend, Ore.; Rosel E. Belnap of the United States secret serviqe, and Mrs. S. F. Kimball, Salt Lake; and the following brothers and sisters: William J. Eelnap,. Hooper; Olive Belnap, St. George; Francis M. Belnap. Belnap. Hooper; Hyrum Belnap, Ogden; Ogden; A. W. Belnap,. Salem, .Idaho; Amasa Belnap, Salt' Lake; Adallne B. Lowe, Hooper; .Mary E. Lowe · and Isadore Stoddard, Hooper. Seventeen grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held in the Fourth ward chapel. Monday at.l p. m.,'wlth Bishop E. T. Saunders Saunders in charge. The body may be viewed at the Lindquist parlors. Sunday and' at the home, 536 Twenty-second street on Monday from 10 to 12 noon.
