Survived Attack LEONARD FIELDS Sailor Home on ~ Leave; Survived Peatl Harbor Having just signed over for second second enlistment in the United States Navy> Cn j e f Pharmacist's Mate Leonard Fields, 21, who went un- scathed through the bombing of Pearl Harbor, arrived home early today on re-enlistment leave for a visit with his parents, Mr. anc Mrs. R. M. Fields of 3519 Gillhar avenue. Fields was on duty in the Nava Hospital at Pearl Harbor when th Hawaiian base wns Bombed by th Japs, Dec. 7. Ten days later h parents' anxiety for his safety wa relieved by an official message tha he was safe. Three months ag< after a duty tour of more tha three years in Hawaii, Fields wa sent back to Pacific coast, and n. cently has been stationed at th Naval Hospital, San Diego'. A graduate of Alton High schoo in 1937, Fields enlisted in the nav a little less than a year later afte reaching the age of 18.
