After a few weeks' illness from a complication of ailments, J. W. Venable, Venable, 75 years old, passed to eternal rest at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the family home, corner Second and Paul streets. His death had been expected for several flays. Mr. Yen- able was born and reared in Linn county, and came from Browning. Mo., to Chillicothe ten years ago, and resided here continuously until his death. Besides his widow h e is survived survived by the following children: Mrs. Tina Bingham of Chillicothe, Mrs. Bessie Pearson of Kansas City. Robt. L. Vena'ble of Portland, Ore., and Frank and-Peter Venable of Pell, Washington. All of the children except except two sons were at Mr. Venable's bedside when the end came. Funeral services were held from the house this (Wednesday) afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Warren P. Clark of the First Baptist church. Burial was made in Edgewood.
