Mrs. Robert Duncan HUMBOLDT — Mrs. Robert Duncan of Corpus Christi, Tex., (laughter of Mrs. Allen B. Smith of Humboldt, died Jan. 1 in Corpus Christi. She had been ill V> years. Funeral services were held for her at Corpus Christi, at 10 a. m. Saturday. Since relatives relatives here were unable to go lo the funeral, a memorial service service was held lor her here at the home of her mother, at the same lime as the funeral. The Rev. Gene Taylor conducted the service service and only family members attended. Verley Smith Duncan was born and reared in Colony and was employed in Chanute in 1935 and 1936,. She is survived by her husband husband of the home; a daughter, Mrs. W. II. Hudson, -Norfolk, Va.; a granddaughter; her niolher, Mrs. Allen B. Smith; a sister, Mrs. Wilbur Chandler of Chanute; and three brothers, brothers, Vern and Milo Smith of Humboldt, and Don Smith of Houston. tTex.. that year. They returned to Humboldt in July in 1963. Survivors include the husband of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Lauretta Collins. Longview. Xex. t j_fpjyui_SJ^ chell of Parsons, Mrs. Mary Ellen Cox of Los Angeles, Calif.; Calif.; Virginia Mitchell of Los Angeles Angeles and Mrs. Frances Zorn of Concord, Calif.; a brother, Robert Mitchell of Auburn, Wash.; a step-mother, Mrs. Myr- j tie Mitchell of Chanutc; and one grandchild. Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Thursday at the Humboldt Humboldt Methodist Church with the Rev. Gene Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Smith HUMBOLDT — Mrs. Bessie Mae Smith, 44, of Humboldt, died yesterday at Ne6sho Memorial Memorial Hospital in Chanute after a five months' illness. Mrs. Smith was born March 2(i, 1919 at Humboldt. She was married to Allan Milo Smith on March 11, 1950 at Neodesha, and they moved to Bcaumortt, Ben Hudson Ben Hudson, 85, of 315 N. Fourth Street, died yesterday evening at his home. Born in Anderson County, Mr.. Hudson farmed in Andeitson and Alien counties in the Mildred community all his life until he retired about 12 years ago and moved to Iola. Survivors include his widow !
