PITIK HUE!, WELL-KNOWN BUSINESS MAN SUCCUMBS TO LONG ILLNESS Patrick J. Heaney, 70, president and manager of the Artificial Ice company here since 1926, and a icsident of Helena slnco 1921, died last night In St. John's hospital aflcr six weeks' Illness. Surviving are two sons, T. F. Heaney of Butte and F. E. Heaney of Helena; three daughters, Mrs. p. J. McGlnley of Carlsbad, N. Mrs. Tim J. Downey of Missoula, and Mrs. Fred M. Nackard of Flagstaff, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Maria Sullivan in New Jersey; two brothers, Frank Heaney in New Jersey «nd Peter Heaney In New York, several nieces and nephews. Bxrn In Ireland Mr. Heaney was born In County Longford, Ireland, August 31, When he was 18 he came to York and attended school. In ho came to Butte and was at different times at several noted mines, Including the High Ore r Mountain Con and Wake Up For a considerable time he was employed as a hoisting engineer. Later he became chief engineer for the Butte brewery. In 1907 went to Alaska, where, until he was superintendent of the Victoria Copper Mining company. Returning to Butte, he became chief engineer of the Centennial brewery, where he remained until 1920. When he first came to Helena he became chief engineer of the Helena Ice company. His wife. Mr. Mary Heaney, In Butte In 1921. Funeral Arrangements Rosary services will be conducted In Helena tonight. The body will be sent from the Opp and Conrad mortuary to Duggan's mortuary Butte Wednesday, and rosary services services will be conducted in Butte Wednesday night. Requiem mass will be celebrated In the Immaculate Immaculate Conception church there Thursday morning. Mr. Heaney was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Columbus, and a member of the Eagles, Elks and Woodmen of the World ledges, the Lions club and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Mrs. Downey and Mrs. Nackard were with him when he died, as was his son, P. E. Heaney. The other son, T. F. Heaney, will here soon. P. E. Heaney was associated with his father In the Ice
