Services Held Yesterday for Thos. Aherron Last Rites Held For Local Contractor Who Died in Newport News Funeral services for Thomas Aherron were held yesterday afternoon from the home of his daughter, Mrs. B. V Gosney, 1716 North Main street, by the Rev. J. A. Johnson. Burial followed in Leemont cemetery. Mr. Aherron, a retired building contractor, died Saturday afternoon in Newport News where he had gone to visit a daughter, Mrs. R. S. Miller. He was 70 years old. Death was unexpected, though he had been forced to give up work six months ago because of declining health. ..-.:'' He was a native of Henry county but had lived most of his life in Danville. He was married twice, first to Miss Lucy Richardson, who died In 1905, and next to Miss Willie Garbee, of Ls'nchburg, who died In May of last year. Pallbearers were: P. S. Walton, Charlie Bradley, Walter Adams, John Lovelace, James Daley, C. R. Long and Patton Wilson. Flower bearers were; T. A. Walton, John Nelson, Charlie Cox, Wiley Hughes. B. J. Bernard, C. G. Bennett. Harry Mundy, Frank Bliss, Herman Everett, Roy Richardson, Bob Nolen, L. C. Oakley. Charlie Flora, A. B. Crowell, C. W. Dcdson, Tom Bailey, H. J. Yeaman, and Tom Evans.
