THE ABILENE REPORTER-NEWS Abilene, Texas, Saturday Morning, Sept. 24, 196 13-A well project! southj e a t Performance I ALASKAN COOK INLET FLOWS 1,440-BARREL TEST DALLAS -- Atlantic Richfield Company announced test results on its second major well in five weeks in Alaska's Inlet, the McArthur State No. 1, which flowed at the 1,440 barrels of oil daily through a %-mch choke. The well, the company's third offshore well in the Cook Inlet, is located 2^ miles'northeast of the West Forelands No. 3, which flowed on test at the rate of 1,608 barrels daily, as announced Aug. 18. The McArthur State No. encountered the same Hemlock formation tested in the Forelands Unit No. 3. The well flowed 36.2-degree API gravity oil at the 1,440-barrel rate from perforations over an interval of 9.660 to feet. Gas - oil ratio was 175-1. The well is located midway between the northern part the Middle Ground Shoals Field and the Trading Bay on wholly-owned acreage. The McArthur State No. 1 was drilled in 130 feet of by the floating vessel Wodeco IV. The well drilled to feet and was plugged back to 9,790 feet.
