COKER BANDSMEN ENROLL FOR SIX-WEEKS COURSE Eight members o£ the Conncllsville High School Band will enroll at Mansfield Band Camp in Tioga county county for a period of six weeks, starting Monday, June 27. The camp is directed by Mrs. Grace Steadman, head of the music department o£ Mansfield State Teachers College, and Leslie Howard, Howard, band instructor at the college who was formerly assistant director at Earnest Williams Band School of New York. Mrs. Steadman is the grandmother of Richard Gingrich, C. H. S. bandmaster. Camp'enrollment is limited to 125 students and provides a course in individual instruction, band drilling, concert performance and theory of band work. The camp schedule calls lot playing of major instruments approximately approximately six hours each day. The balance of the time will bs spent In recreational diversion. During the six week camp period the young musicians will receive instruction instruction Irom various nationally known band instructors Including Richard Goldman, Arthur Pryor and several from Rochester Symphony. Those enrolling from ConneUsvlllc are: Betty Mitchell, Edward McDonald, McDonald, John Jackson, Joe Hoed, Warren Bliott, Lcla Betters, George Betters Jr., and James Betters.
