FOWNAL Fireworks A'ftrm Horn As Wilfred Proud was driving up Iho hill of Mnln street yesterday hi* horse become frightened at firecrackers being fifed Immediately In front of him. At the explosion of th6 first one h; stopped, at ins second quickly following It h« turned and bolted. The wagon a.lld hayrack he was drawing were badly badly damaged and the mower hitched back of iho wagon was dumped into the ditch. Neither Mr. Proud nor the horse was hurt. Visitors Iteturn to Kuiuu Mr. and Mrs. Joseph McNaughton o,' Knnsas City, Kan,, who have been visiting relatives In this vicinity for 10 days left Thursday afternoon for their home In Kansas. They were guests for the greater part of their stay of Mrs. ton's brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Watts, at their farm home on the west side of the river. During their stay Mr. and Mrs Walls and their guests motored to nearly all points of Interest within a radius of 50 miles, going over the Mohawk and Ticonlc trails and Green Mountain highway to Ben- nlngton. Wednesday evening a surprise party and reception was given for them at the home of Mr. Watts' daughter, Mrs. William Watts, at which 23 relatives were present. Here the guests of honor were presented with a beautiful linen lunch cloth and matching dollies, hand embroidered, embroidered, Imported from Czechoslovakia. Thursday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Watts motored their giiesti to Al bany where they were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wllllnm Watts and that evening Mr. and Mrs. MeNaugh- toh left for their home In Kansas icily, expressing the hope Ihftt 38 ytars may not elapso before the next family reunion as had been the case In this Instance.
