; Jeha Reese Deai. John Rouse died at his borne at Ickesburg on Saturday night. He had been a sufferer for several years from the effects of a stroke of paralysis, which left him practically as helpless as a child. His remains will be interred at the Chapel graveyard, near Kistler, on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock. John Rouse was born one mile from Blain, June 10, 1836. His grandfather was George Rouse, who resided in Horse Valley. His father's name was also George, who liv?d near Centre, where he operated a grist-mill and carding and fulling-mill, at what is now Bixler's mills. John Rouse, at the age of eighteen years, removed with bis father two miles soth of Ickesburg, where he engaged in the manufacture of woolen fabrics. He has lived retired since 1872. Mr. Rouse was married in 1851 to Mary Jane Hamilton, of Shiremans-town, Cumberland county. Their children are Alvin H. and Harriett Bell. He was again married in 1872 to Mina Jane Kerr. Mr. Rouse was a member of the M. E. church and was an ardent temperance advocate. He was an uncle of Messrs. George A. and Charles H. Rouse, of this place. a in of
