ninety-first of year Lindsay ' S L I N G All American Athlete Dies Fred Linkous, Former At University Of Maryland Maryland Dies Of Blood Poisoning Baltimore, March 27, (I?). -- Linkous, one of the foremost athletes athletes ever developed at the University University of Maryland, died this morning in the University Hospital here blood poisoning, developed from infection which followed extraction of a tooth last week. Linkous was admffffeff !b the hospital several days ago, and showed improvement for a. time, only to suffer a relapse yesterday, which resulted resulted in an operation. A hemorrhage hemorrhage followed, and blood transfusion was resorted to in an effort to him new strength. For a time rallied, hut suffered another relapse and died shortly after ten o'clock. The bleod was donated by an instructor at the Severn School, Linkous has been a teacher and athletic coach since his graduation from the University In 1928. For three years prior to that time varsity fullback on the football team, played every position on basketball team and was a star, having been picked for the American team in that sport.
