Friends Given News of a Texas Wedding Friends entertained on Friday evening at a delightful party at the horn of Mr. and Mra. Floyd Q. A springtime wedding had been planned to take plaoe in San Bernardino, but the fortunes of war changed the plans, The groom was given a furlough, and visited his parents before leav ing for foreign service, end intro duced his bride to the family at the same time. The bride wore a gray suit with white accessories for the ceremony, and the groom was in uniform. The grooms sister, Mrs. Rossis Needham attended the pair. The groom is the sob of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Flovin of Plalnvlew and attended schools there. Assisting at the announcement party with the hostess and bride, were the grandmother of the bride, Mrs. J. W. L Duke, and her aunt, Mrs. William Olivas. The bride's mother played the wedding march as the company was invited to the diningroom. . White wedding bells with streamers of ribbon were suspended suspended above the table, and white chrysanthemums were the flowers. The crocheted table cover was centered centered with the lovely wedding cake, with miniature bridal oouple as its top decoration. ' Favors were white satin bags filled with rice with cards attached, giving date and place of wedding. Earlier hearts was the game played, with prizes going to Mrs. Gibson Grim, (formerly Betty Olivas) Olivas) and Jo Nell Bristow. Guests entertained at the announcement announcement party were: Misses Virginia Virginia Ballanger, Betty Hawes, Jo Nell Bristow, -Wanda -Wanda Flory, Ida Wilson, George Anne Lord, Ruby Lee Bute, Leota Boston, and Mes-dames Mes-dames Mes-dames Ben Ries, Lorraine Soder-burg, Soder-burg, Soder-burg, Gibson Grimm, (Betty Olivas). Weldon Garland Flovin was solemnized In Plalnvlew, Texas, the home city of the groom, where the bride met hie family and friends. Sgt. Flovin, air corps radio operator, U. S. army, ia now in service in Africa. He was formerly at March field. Given a fifteen day furlough, the couple went to Texaa for the ceremony, and returned here where the bride will remain with her parents. Recital by Pupils Louise Stiles Ware An interesting recital by piano students of Louise Stiles Ware was given at her studio Saturday after noon, Dec. 19, at 2:30. Parents and friends were Invited to attend. A special event was the recitation of the Christmas Story by John Wilfred Wilfred Brown.
