Data It takes a long time for a chess master to attain the stature to I challenge for the chess championship of the world. And when one does, he has difficulty in arranging I for a title match. This is one rea-1 son why we have had few world ! champions in the Twentieth Cen-! tury. Today, Mikhail Tal of Rus-i sia is the top man, sitting grandly I on his throne. But even he may be '. toppled, for Mikhail Botvinnik, the ' former titleholder, has managed to set up a championship match, beginning in March. It was from ' Botvinnik that Tal took the title. Both men are among the greatest Jewish players in the history of the game. And in the wings, Bobby ; Fischer of Brooklyn, USA waits. He is aware that Tal has denigrat- ; ed him and he knows that he is considered to be brilliant but not quite mature. By the time he gets his chance and it takes times j he will be moie mature, we are certain. Whether he will be bril-' liant enough to whip either Bot-vinnink or Tal remains to be seen. :
