Edgerton Man Killed in One-Car Accident A rural Edgerton man was killed and a rural Janesville man injured as the result of a one-car crash at 6:22 p.m. Saturday. James D. Beechler, 20, Rt. 3, Edgerton, died of a broken neck after being taken to Edgerton Community Memorial Hospital at 8:04 p.m. Michael P. McCann, 24, Eau Claire Road, passenger in Beechler's car, was in improved condition at the hospital this morning with a skull fracture. Beechler was driving south on Lake Road, about 3 miles east of Edgerton, when his car left the road near Maple Beach Road. The car, which was demolished in the accident, tore out a guard post and rolled over several times, ending up on the passenger's side. McCann was taken to the hospital after Rock County sheriff's deputies moved the car, under which he was pinned. No charges were made by deputies, who are continuing their investigation. Mr. Beechler was born Aug. 7, 1949, in Gladstone, Mich., the son of Russell and Madelyn Pickard Beechler, and had lived in the area the past six years. He was employed at the GMAD plant in Janesville as a relief man on the production lines. Beechler was a member of Primitive Methodist Church, Sinnissippi Council, Scouts, and DeMolay Chapter, Janesville. ^ Surviving are his parents; two brothers, Dennis with the Marine Corps at Cherry Point, N.C., and Russell Lee, at home; three sisters, Susan, Donna and Dorothy, all at home; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. August Pickard and Mrs. Dewey Beechler, all of Gladstone. ., Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. ^^^^ - jj^g Anderson and Johns Funeral j^Qj ^g Gladstone.
