Jessup John Mullaney Dies Suddenly Former Second Ward Tax Collector Succumbs After Pneumonia JESSUP, Jan. 11. A week's Illness of pneumonia proved fatal this morn ing at 11:45 o'clock to John F. Mullaney, Mullaney, highly esteemed and well known citizen, who died at his home, on Moosic street. Mr. Mullaney's demise was entirely entirely unexpected and news of his passing passing will cause profound grief to his hosts of friends and acquaintances. Earlier in life he evinced an interest in politics and aspired for public office several times. For a long period of years he served as tax assessor in the second ward. He was a staunch communicant communicant of St. James' church and was identified with its men's societies. Besides his widow, he is survived by the following sons and daughters: Joseph Joseph and Gerald, of town; James, of Carbondale; John, of Archbald; Eva, a teacher in the local schools; Mrs. John Ford and Mrs. Lydia Barrett, of Scran - ton; Mrs. James Abbot, of Throop; Mrs. Leonard Scott and Mrs. Leo Jordan, Jordan, of this place. He is also survived by twenty - eight grandchildren. The funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock with a high mass of requiem in St. James' church. Rev. Stephen H. O'Boyle will be the celebrant.
