William Hannon, of seventeen twenty - five Lafayette street, employed as a track layer in the Pine Brook shaft came near being squeezed to death while at work yesterday afternoon. As it Is, he lies In his bed with four broken ribs and his body cut In sev eral places. Hannon was repairing some track when a trip of runaway cars came down an unused switch and caught him squarely, throwing him against the side wall and squeezing him Into a place about six Inches wide. His cries attracted this attention of fellow workmen and he was removed to his home In the mine ambulance. Dr. D. W. Evans of North Main avenue attend ed him.
