few Winners Announced For Park Art Fair Several thousand Palatine residents attended the first "Sunday in the Park" art fair. The fair was part of the two- day Centennial celebration. Forty-seven artists participated in the five-hour show. Exhibits ranged from handicrafts to oil paintings. First place winners got $25 and second place $10. WINNER OF THE first place award for realistic painting was Paul Kocnen of Chicago. Second place winner for realistic painting was Allan Olson of Aurora; third place was Stanley Dudek of West Chicago. Honorable mentions in the realistic painting category went to Mike Daumer of Hammond, Ind., Evelyn Mitchell of Mount Prospect, Tim Nishimoto of Elmhurst and Dick Henley o f j Aurora. FIRST PLACE winner of the abstract painting category was Cathy Proteau of Arlington Heights. Second place went to Robert Pinn of Lockport and third place to Alfred Blaszczak of Addison. Honorable mentions were culled by Naomi Houghland of Home wood and Raymond Snyder of Elgin. G. E. Hall of Des Plaines took first prize in the sculpturing competition. Second place was taken by G. Olsen of Park Forest and third place by. Don Tracshler of Lockport. GRETCHEN McCarthy of Berwyn won first prize in the crafts competition. Second place was taken by Elva and Nick Maas of Elmhurst and third place by Jean Garrett of Villa Park. Honorable mentions went to Lois Thayer of Chicago Heights and Gloria Greene of Libertyville. of
