New Mexico Artist In El Paso Show Mrs. Lucy If. Lewis of San Fidel is among New Mexico artists and craftsmen represented in El Paso Arts and Crafts Festival May 19-22 in El Paso Coliseum. The event, largest art show ever held in this area, is sponsored by El Paso Artists Association \viih the (1 .ity and County recreation departments. departments. Mrs. Lewis will show her reproductions reproductions of prehistoric pottery. Her work is done of native clays, with over-decorations made of black and orange rocks, painted on freehand. The pots are fired in an open fire for about an hour. The fuel is cow dung .Acoma pottery pottery is made of gray clay, and is light and waterproof. Her honors include a special award from the Indian Arts Fund, Santa Fe: first and second grand prizes, Inter-Tribal Ceremonial, Gallup, and first prizes in the State Fair, Albuquerque. She also has exhibited in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and has work in Europe and the Near East.
