MARGARET DURANT had as Callers last Friday Hope Bemiss, Shirley Garfin and Catherine Wagner, all of Mason City. Mrs. Garfln and Mrs. Wagner were fsthfbltors at the Sidewalk Art Show. MRS. KIRK Hayes and her mother, Mrs. Melvin Bourne, are spending today (Thurs.) and tomorrow in Des Moines. Mrs. Hayes is attending an organ work- Shop, conducted by Prof. Baunders at Drake University. Mrs. Bourne is attending a state board meeting of the D. A. R. at the Hotel Savery. DR. AND MRS. D. J. Shey were hosts at a Hawaiian luau at their home Saturday evening. This was the culmination of the season for Mrs. Shey's bridge Club, with the losers entertaining the winners and their husbands. Guests appeared in Hawaiian dress and were presented with a lei upon their arrival. Part of the evening was spent on the lawn and the meal took place In a large room in the home, which had been decorated for the occasion. occasion. Included on the menu Were many Hawaiian dishes. 'Hawaiian games were played and the group participated in Hawaiian dances. Assisting hosts and hostesses were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Skogstrom,Mr.andMrs. Joe Straub and Dr. and Mrs. LeRoy Strohman. Guests included included Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Winkel, Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Hayes, Dr. and Mrs. Dean Koob and Mr. and Mrs. John Hood. LT. COL.AND Mrs. Robert Clapper and sons, Omaha, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Gail Towiie. MR. AND MRS. Rotert Winter became parents of a daughter, Jennifer, June 10, at St. Ann hospital. MRS. TOM ZENDER, Minneapolis, Minneapolis, is spending this week with her. parents, the R. B. Wallers. MRS. HELEN JOHNSON of Algona Algona attended a high school reunion reunion of her graduating class of 1920 from Council Bluffs Abraham Abraham Lincoln high school recently, at Council Bluffs. A HOUSEWARMING was held at the new home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Frideres here June 12. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Phil Pfeffer, Mr. and Mrs. Merv MR. AND MRS. Paul J. Thilges Thilges and family and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thilges, Sr. of Bode, accompanied by Mary Thilges and Mrs. Louis Fuhrmann of Algona, visited Sunday at Epworth Epworth with Father John J. Thilges, Thilges, Rev. Thilges is attending an annual retreat at St. Paul's Mission House.
