Sgt. Chas. Davis Wayne City, Dies WAYNE CITY T I T I., Sept. 9. - Sgi. Criiarles Thomas Davis. ."50, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hardin L. Davis of Wayne City, died Saturday, September 4, at the McCormick government hospital in .San Bernadino, Calif. The body will arrive in Wayne Cily Friday morning and military funeral services will be held Sat- urdav at 2:00 p. m. at Combs Chapel. The Rev. Miller of Mc- Leansbnro will officiate and burial will be in Salem cemetery in t'oiir Mile township. Sgt. Davis was a nephew of Mrs. Pearl Drajx-r, a nurse at .leffeison County Memorial Hospital in Mt. Vernon. lie wiis born May 10, 1918 near Camp Ground, Jefferson county, the son of Hardin L. and Iva M. (BondI Davis. .Sgt. Davi.s .joined the Army at the age of 18 and served two hitches in the Army Air Force .since that time. Besides his parents, he is sur- .vived by his wife, Yetive Davis of San Bernadino and a daughter, Ueta Kay Davis, four months old.
